To become a certified professional you must be a Qualified Associate in Tableau
Earlier Tableau used to offer certification for version 8 both Desktop and Server. But now Tableau has released version 9 certification exams. Thus, now you can no longer register for the version 8. If you are already certified in version 8 of Tableau and would now like to upgrade yourself, you can sit for the 9th version delta examination with the new features only.
Presently, Tableau offers two levels of certification for both Desktop and Server:
- First level of certification is known as Qualified Associate
- Second level of certification is known as Certified Professional

Tableau Desktop 9 Qualified Associate Exam:
- Exam fee: USD 250
- Duration of Exam: 2 hours
- Total No of Questions: 34
Out of that34:
- Knowledge based Questions: 16 (1 mark each)
- Hands on Experience Questions: 18 (3 marks each)
- All questions related to hands-on expertise should be answered by using the Tableau tool with given data sources.
- Passing score: 75% (53/70)
*All Exams are conducted online except for the Tableau Server Certified Professional exam

- Total No of Questions: 12
Out of that 12:
- Knowledge based Questions: 7 (1 mark each)

- Passing score: 75% (17/22)
